Andrew Hetherington

I’m an experienced chief executive and project director with a background in the cultural, financial and technology sectors.

I joined the National Gallery of Ireland as Head of Audience Development & Stakeholder Engagement in March 2022. Prior to that I was Chief Executive of Business to Arts, which is a membership-based organisation that brokers, enables and supports creative partnerships between businesses, individuals and the arts.

I have an academic background that includes social policy, cultural policy and arts management. My professional skills include strategic planning, board development, human resource management, communications, corporate affairs, CSR, governance and fundraising.

I have a track record of creating, implementing and developing large-scale projects/events with employers & clients. I have helped to develop policy in the areas of Culture, Philanthropy, CSR and Fundraising. I actively contribute to research projects and publications in these areas.

I have wide-ranging interests in art, technology, sustainable business, social policy, the environment, equality, diversity and inclusion. I continue my professional development in as many ways as I can. This includes being a member of the Institute of Directors.
